Some MKV files is 0:00 long, not playable, other ones particularly

There is several GB sized MKV files which are not playable and VLC shows that they are 0:00 long. Other users can play that file, it's double checked.

Every non-playable MKVs are min. 4 GB but some 7 GB MKV is playable. This means the problem is not the file size.

A Sample of an this kind (non-playable) MKV is 1:39 long but still VLC plays only some seconds of it.

It seems there is different sub-types of MKV format but I'm not sure of it.

I still can, first 2-3 seconds. I'll keep an eye on finding new infos, new MKVs to test etc. to exclude the chance of file errors.

This file seems corrupted and VLC fails to properly recover from it. This looks like another issue.

After more analyze, your file is filled with zeroes with some small chunks of data. It looks like a torrent before it's completely downloaded.

Are you sure you were not trying to play such files before the download completion?

Yeah, I'm sure, because I set the torrent download to download files into another folder and to move them into Downloads folder after finishing.

Maybe the original file was corrupted or downloader app is bugsy. Thank you!

OK so I'll close this bug for now, feel free to reopen it if you have a sample that fails. The first 50 Mbytes shall be enough for a first analyzis.
