ActiveX 64bits Web plugin does not work in IE10/11 with EPM on Win8

This was reported as fixed in 2.0.7 and Ticket #8627 (closed) closed. Unfortunately the problem still remains. Media will play OK in Firefox and Chrome using the VideoLAN\VLC\sdk\activex\test.html. It will not play in IE10. Reverting VLC to 2.0.5 fixes the problem.

I have reproduced this problem with the 64Bit-ActiveX (Nightly-Build http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win64/vlc-2.1.0-20130627-0403/) in Win8x64. The 32Bit-Activex in Win8x64 works for me.

On Win7x64 with IE10 is the same problem. But it works for me, when I enable the "Enhanced Protected Mode" (Internet Options->Advanced) and I reboot the OS.

On Win8x64 it doesn't work for me with the "Enhanced Protected Mode". It occurs only a message, that the plugin doesn't support "Enhanced Protected Mode". VLC 2.0.5 doesn't work for me, too.

Works on IE 11 (32bits) on WIndows 8.1

I have tested again, you're right, it works partially.

-With VLC 32bit it works always. (IE 10/11 on Win x86/x64) -With VLC 64bit it works not on IE >= 10, when you not enable the "Enhanced Protected Mode".

With EPM, VLC 32 bits cannot work. You need vlc 64bits.

EPM on Win7 does not activate 64bits. EPM on Win8 activates 64bits.

So, to be clear, EPM on Windows 8 with IE10 and 11 needs VLC 64bits.

I have tested it again more accurately:

Win7x64:

EPM disabled -VLC 32bit: Works -VLC 64bit: Works not

EPM enabled -VLC 32bit: Works not (It appears a message, which allows to disable EPM for this site) -VLC 64bit: Works

Win8.0x64

EPM disabled -VLC 32bit: Works -VLC 64bit: Works not

EPM enabled -VLC 32bit: Works not (It appears a message, which allows to disable EPM for this site) -VLC 64bit: Works not (It appears a message, which says that this plugin are not compatible with EPM and allows to disable EPM for this site)

So basically, all is good, except VLC 64bits that does not work with EPM.

Great ! This version works for me in Windows 7 64 bit with IE 11.0.4. Both with, and without, EPM. Is there a 64 bit version ?

Same results with this build as with the x86 nightly builds: Works fine.

See your comment 23 Yes, it works for x86 builds. In this folder isn't a x64 build, and the x64 nightly builds doesn't work for me (result as described in my comment 16)
