File name in title bar preference missing
Dear Volunteer,
Many thanks for all the excellent work on this excellent player - it is the best I have ever come across and I am really appreciative and grateful for all your selfless work on it.
I have a very simple request, re a feature that many on the fora have mentioned and the present seeming lack of which causes immense frustration, especially in view of the fact this feature used to be there in previous versions of VLC.
I cannot seem to easily find any setting that allows one to -
Display filename in the VLC title bar (ie the top bar, NOT on screen)
NOTE - I do NOT want the metadata within the file info to display at the top border of the player. I would like the actual FILENAME (for both audio and video files) to display - for example the file audiofilename.mp3 or videofilename.mkv to display at the top border (ie windonw title bar).
I notice that if I go to the menu selection tools/preferences/all/interface/main interfaces/Qt, there is an option "show playing item name in window title", but if you choose (tick/check) that item, it only uses the META data, NOT the file name.
So, the simple request is simply to create another option, maybe directly under the above one, that says something like -
"show playing item FILENAME in window title"
This would make life SO MUCH EASIER. I have looked for hours how to do this, and no find answer. Is this possible to do.
Note that in the VLC fora, many require the filename option, because they have found that the metadata for ALL of their different content files in, say, the same folder all have the SAME METADATA, so that when the play each file, and they have the "show playing item name in window title" item checked, the SAME name appears for EACH file played even though each file is different.
Many thanks for your consideration of this. I would look forward to this re-instatement of this feature in the current iteration of VLC.
