hardware-accelerated decoding problem
Hi everyone! Firstly I'd like to thank you all for the great job you do with VLC. Secondly I'm writing this to flag you some bugs I've been experiencing recently.
In both VLC 2.0.5 and 2.0.6, if I play a .mp4 video and hardware-accelerated decoding is enabled I see nothing but artifacts. Though there are no problems with .avi files.
I even downloaded the nightly build vlc-2.1.0-pre1-20130429-0403-win64 as recommended, but the problem becomes even worse: if I try to play a .avi video VLC crashes, and with .mp4 videos I see again nothing but artifacts. This happens whether Automatic or DXVA 2.0 are enabled.
So it seems to be a problem that deals with hardware-accelerated decoding, because if it is disabled, there are no problems!
The following are my laptop specifications:
- CPU: Intel Core2 Duo CPU T6600 @ 2.20GHz
- GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650
- Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio
- RAM: 4096 MB DDR3 RAM (1,066 MHz)
- OS: Microsoft Windows 7 - 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 (x64)
Thanks a lot for your time and dedication
