Pitch Problems with Wav Files
There's been a bug in VLC for a long time but I've finally reported it for you. ( i've just tested 2.05 to make sure it hasn't been fixed already) When playing a .wav file 44.1 or 48khz ( mp3 files seem to be fine), the pitch/speed varies slightly throghout playback. pressing stop or moving the slider to a different section of the song will reset the pitch back to what it should be. I have tested this on a Windows XP and windows 8 computer with builtin motherboard soundcard and a digidesign mbox in ASIO mode. All show the exact same problem. Windows media player doesn't change the pitch so I now it's not a sample lock issue Most people wont notice the pitch shift but I'm a musician and Audio Engineer. Let me know if you want an audio sample to demonstrate it regards, Damian
