Audio Stop with Fade Out / Audio Start with Fade In
SUMMARY OF FEATURE:
For audio-files only, implement a configurable linear / logarithmic audio stop (start) with fade out (in) option for a configurable time interval. The feature would be bound to keyboard shortcuts (possibly GUI buttons), and allow files to be started / stopped with a automatically modified volume level. When finished with the feature, reset the volume level of the player back to the previous volume level.
OTHER PRODUCTS WITH FEATURE:
WinAmp has a "Audio Stop With Fade" feature ("Shift+V").
SUGGESTED USAGE:
To perform manual cross-fades of audio files via multiple instances.
RELATED ISSUES:
There is an existing "gap-less playback" / cross-fade request here: https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/549, which is primarily focused on the gap-less / cross-fade audio playback aspect.
