VLC busy loops if all playlist files are deleted

Sometimes I delete music albums from my computer, but they are still in the playlist. When VLC finds such element in playlist (shuffle play), he swear at it that "VLC is unable to open the MRL ...", seems all right. But! If the next random element of playlist is not exit too, VLC hangs and I have to kill the process.

If playlist playing in normal order, VLC warns me about each nonexistent file (even hundreds of files) and start to play the first existing track in the playlist.

I'm having kind of the same problem. Put VLC in loop all, play a music file, while it is playing, rename it, delete it or move the music file. When VLC finish playing the song, a window popup saying it cannot play the file because it doesn't exist. However, since it's in a loop, it will keep saying the same message over and over again. At this point, VLC eats 40% of my CPU, when I'm lucky I can click on 'Hide future errors' then on close but sometimes VLC just hangs there and I have to kill the process.

VLC should print the error message only one time.

Or VLC should keep track of everytime it display an error message and stop printing them if it prints more than 10 messages in a second.

Or even easier yet, when VLC display an error message such as 'VLC could not open the file', it should disable the loop option and then add to the error window that the loop has been disabled so that this error won't popup again.

I'd like to be in the CC, no idea how to do it though, need help.
