Audio does not work from Command line
VLC GUI works great, I can capture video and audio with no problems.
I use the command line and there is no audio.
I can use ffmpeg cli and capture audio but not with vlc cli (cli = command line interface).
I am using VLC 1.1.13 for CentOS 6.2 (VLC media player 1.1.13 The Luggage (revision exported)) with Alsa drivers.
Here is my output from aplay -l:
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: AD198x Analog [AD198x Analog] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 1: AD198x Digital [AD198x Digital] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
I have tried adev and input-slave but nothing is working from vlc cli, only works with GUI. This is unacceptable for I have to be able to start vlc from command line.
I am using v4l2 for the video portion also.
Any suggestions? Solutions?
