VLC Fails To Grab Focus if playback is started when minimized
Initially reported on the VLC forum:
I use VLC in full screen mode. When I play a video by launching VLC from Windows Explorer (double clicking on the video file/right-clicking on the file and selecting "Play"/pressing with the file selected) VLC plays in the background, ie behind all the other applications before it in the Z-list order (ie the order seen by pressing Alt-Tab). In v1.0.5, VLC would play behind the Windows Explorer window from which the video was launched (which wasn't ideal either, but much better). I'm sure in older versions VLC was able to grab focus, especially when it launched the video in full screen mode. Is this a deliberate change in behaviour? If so, can this be made a configuration setting and if not can it be fixed please?
Also, I have noticed that occasionally VLC is slow to promote itself over the Windows Start bar (when set to run full screen and the video played by pressing VLC's play button) - the Start bar remains displayed for maybe a second or two. This only happens occasionally, and I don't recall v1.0.5 behaving in this way. Is this behaviour in some way related to the lack of focus-grabbing?
