vlc emits a lot of whitespace to the console / command-line when playing any media file
Hi all!
vlc emits a lot of whitespace to the console / command-line when playing any media file. Every few seconds it emits many newlines to the stdout or stderr of the console. I'm on Mandriva Linux Cooker. I tried it with:
-
A local .mp3.
-
A local .ogg.
-
A hand-compiled vlc from the source distribution (with no patches).
-
A local .flv.
-
A remote .flv.
-
A remote .ogg such as:
http://www.shlomifish.org/Files/files/music/mp3-ogg/Austin%20Acton%20-%20Two%20Point%20Six.ogg .
- A new unix user account on top of IceWM.
I'm using the radeon/video-ati driver on an ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro. Generally the vlc executable should be fully quiet on the invoking terminal.
