[regression] Using "Open Directory" in VLC to open a DVD-on-disk opens the DVD drive instead
I am using VLC 1.0.0 on Linux (32-bit Ubuntu Jaunty with VLC 1.0.0 package installed from Karmic). I have a "DVD-on-disk", i.e., the contents of a DVD's root directory copied to my hard disk, containing a VIDEO_TS directory with all the VOB files and IFO files and such. If I try to open it with File -> Open Directory in VLC and navigate to inside the VIDEO_TS directory, then VLC opens the DVD that is in my drive--i.e., it opens the MRL dvd://. If there is no DVD in the drive then of course this results in it displaying an error.
If I select the directory that contains the VIDEO_TS folder, VLC opens the raw VOB files in a playlist (i.e., not as a DVD).
If I use Open Disc and browse to select the directory as the disc device, then VLC opens the DVD-on-disk correctly regardless of whether I select the VIDEO_TS directory or its parent directory.
The expected behaviour is that VLC should also open the files as a DVD when using Open Directory (regardless of whether the VIDEO_TS folder or its parent is selected).
The problem occurs 100% of the time (at least for this DVD; haven't tested others).
This is a regression! In 0.9.9, Open Directory correctly opened the DVD-on-disk when the VIDEO_TS directory is selected (though it still incorrectly opened the raw VOB files if the parent directory was selected).
My hardware (likely not revelant): Dell XPS M1710 Laptop with GeForce Go 7900 GS. The physical DVD drive is a Phillips DVD+-RW SDVD8820.
