build errors with 1.0.0-rc2

when building vlc with the combinations: --enable-xvmc and --disable-libmpeg2 or --enable-pda build fails with the build errors attached to this ticket. previously pda failed to build with 1.0.0-rc1 but a patch (commit cde79fd9) fixed it, but that patch seems to be not of relevance anymore, it does not apply so i guess it has to do with something else. the xvmc build error was introduced in the rc2 version

PDA is unmaintained old cruft. Re-assigning to kwizart because of XvMC.

This is not a bug, but a feature.

If you want a check in configure.ac for not allowing impossible request, that can be done.

Now if you want XvMC to build, you need libmpeg2.

If it's unmaintained old cruft, remove it from the source.

wrt xvmc, it's not a feature, but a bug of the build system :)

Patch that produce an error while incorrect behaviour are requested.

the patch seems good to me, can it be applied before the next release?

XvMC no longer exist.
