trac.videolan.org forgot password system doesn't work for some users
Apologies as this is a meta-bug-report, about the trac system, not about VLC itself.

For some users, their accounts get into a half- state, where they are not completely nonexistent in the trac system user database, but they cannot login, and the forgot password option does not work.
This prevents people who would like to participate in the quality improvement of VLC over time from being able to do so.
I also see that this was mentioned briefly in one recent ticket, though in the discussion of the ticket this problem did not appear, and clearly the problem persists because I only recently and just by fiddling around managed to recover my account and get logged in. I had simply given up on reporting anything to/about VLC for over a year due to this problem.

I was one of the affected users, but today i did the BAD workaround posted here https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=149747#p507119 and it worked...
To point out that, you can't login and you can't reset the password because the user/email data is not recognized (although it is correct). Maybe no more users will be affected, but the ones affected already, have still the issue.

The workaround mentioned earlier (https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=149747#p507119) worked for me as well.
The video also shows that Trac was very slow to respond to any request (login page, forgot password page, account registration page). I've tested all sorts of services and only Trac seemed to be extremely slow, so I assume it was not an issue on my side.
