VLC for iOS : Wi-Fi Sharing doesn't work on IPv6

Hi,

I have an issue with Wi-Fi Sharing and IPv6 on VLC for iOS. I enabled IPv6 support in Settings and I can see an AAAA records on mDNS with a valid IPv6 (one record with GUA and another one with a Link-Local Address). But, I can't connect to the web interface, whether with the .local hostname or directly with the GUA.

I ran a capture with Wireshark, and I could see that my iPad answer the SYN sent by my computer with an RST at the beginning of the TCP connection.

The issue shows on iOS 13.3.1, iPad Air 2, VLC for iOS version 3.2.6 (344).

I see the same problem. It appears that Wi-Fi Sharing is NOT listening on port 80 on IPv6, even through in the preferences has been checked.

I see this on VLC for iOS v 3.2.7(345) on iOS 12.4.5 on my iPhone 6.

Wi-Fi sharing works as expected on IPv4.

This is not a new bug, but has been present for over a year.

I believe the problem is in VLCHTTPUploaderController.m

AF_INET is IPv4-ONLY.

There may be more to change than just changing it to AF_INET6 (which should listen to both IPv6 and IPv4)

Craig, this is a nice analysis! Are you interested in contributing a patch to solve this problem?

I just know how to read code.

Unfortunately, I don't have a iOS Dev system to build/test any changes that I would suggest. Therefore, I am hoping someone who does will try changing AF_INET to AF_INET6 and see if it works.

As I said there may be other changes required, and without a Dev system to generate the app and test, it could break other functionality which is working now.
