Remember audio playback position
In VLC for Android, I noticed that the playback position of audio files is not remembered (did not test this on other OSs). I would be grateful if you could implement this.
Why? Audiobooks tend to be many hours long. Though sometimes distributed as collection of many small audio files, many audiobooks come as one long audio file, be it with a chapter index or not. For example, .m4b audio books tend to be whole books in one file. Another use case is podcasts, that are often, besides podcast platforms, also distributed as mp3 files and are typically 30 to 20 minutes long.
Possible ways to implement this feature: -Make a toggle in the settings to remember playback position of audio files -Remember playback position for audio files that exceed a threshold length, e.g. 15 minutes (extra possiblity would be to let the user customize this threshold in the settings) -Combination of points above -This may be a bit controversial of a thing to mention, but you could also think of omitting support for files with the .m4b extension in case you don't want the user to use VLC for audio books. In my opinion, that would be more in line with Apple's way of dealing with media files (having separate extensions for different use cases, like m4a, m4b, m4v), because it forces the user to use a 'correct' app, in this case a dedicated audio book reader, from the very beginning.
