no Tool menu, no "advanced" Options or Preferences

(VLC 3.0.4 on Mac OSX 10.11.6. MacBook Pro Retina, 15 inches, mid-2015, 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7. display: Intel Iris Pro 1536 Mo) I have no Tool menu. Besides I have no "advanced" Options or Preferences. So how can I get them?

FYI, in case this bug would be connected to these other troubles I'm facing:

1. I cannot modify the playlist I create (using .m3u extension): when I want to save the list (CMD + S) after I add a new audio file, the pop up window always wants a new name ("Sans titre"). Surely, it's easy to feed in the same name as the existing one of the playlist and save it in the same folder (so the new list would crash the existing one) but it is quite boring and a somewhat alarming situation.
2. Sometimes the metadata go wrong : what I write in the "Title" box of the metadata is displayed in the "Genre" column of the playlist, and vice versa.

It is the expected behavior to have no Tools menu or Advanced interface. All features located in Tools are in different menus on the Mac. The features included in the advanced interface on Windows/Linux are either part of the Audio or Video Effects panels or located in the Playback menu.

1. This is a generic limitation of VLC and unrelated to the macOS interface.

2. Please report this separately with more details about the media you are trying to modify. This sounds interesting to fix!
