Panasonic Viera returns maximal 20 items on uPnP

    Panasonic Vieras return maximum 20 items on uPnP although VLC requests 5000 items. As result VLC ends the list after 20 items, all the rest of channels or files on the TV can not be viewed.

    According to tests there is only one way round this:

    As long as the reply to a request returns at least 1 item, increase "StartingIndex" by that number of results and repeat the request until either the maximum size of the VLC result field is reached or the TV returns 0 items (indicating end of list).

    My Viera has no search or any other capability, it's an absolutely minimal uPnP implementation.

    Issue is valid on both Windows as well as iOS and Android Apps.
