MPRIS does not emit Metadata property change when vlc:nowplaying changes

When listening to a radio stream, VLC sets the "vlc:nowplaying" attribute on its MPRIS Metadata to the actual song playing.

However, when the song changes the Metadata property isn't signalled to change and so a media controller applet that shows this information is not updated.

The window's title bar updates right away and querying Metadata manually reveals the property has been updated, just without telling anybody.

I am trying to understand what is missing here. Any pointer?

I see that the dbus listen on on_media_meta_changed events. So it means, the update of the nowplaying field by the network stream does not trigger this event. But I do not see where this event should be triggered.
