macOS Menu bar visible in fullscreen with second monitor
My Environment
- macOS Sierra (10.12.3)
- MacBook Pro 2016
- VLC Version: Reproduced on both current released (2.2.4) and latest master (nightly build equivalent).
Steps to reproduce
- Attach a second monitor (TV) via usb-c to hdmi cable.
- Play any video.
- Make VLC full screen on the second monitor.
- Select a window in another app, e.g. Chrome, on your attached MacBook display.
Expected
- The video should still be fullscreen on the second monitor.
Actual
- The video now shows a translucent Menu Bar for VLC on the second monitor (See Attached Screenshot).
- The Menu Bar disappears if you click on the playing video again.
Other Notes
- I initially thought this was an issue with macOS in general, but I discovered that other apps, e.g. Chrome, allow you to do the above without showing the Menu Bar.
- The fullscreen button in VLC is no longer the macOS default, which changed as of Yosemite, I believe. I wonder if perhaps using the new default behavior might help with this issue?
