snapshot and fullscreen icons greyed out on some videos

Tested on vlc-0.9.0-test3-20080727-0004-win32

Start VLC, Media, Open MPEG2 sample, enabled Avanced Controls. S for Snapshot icon is greyed out. CTRL-ALT-S is however functional, both in jpg and png mode.

It seems something in the file detection (or lack of) decides that snapshot is not an option but only at the time of enabling the GUI and also if GUI was already enabled. After Stop, Play it appears OK.

So far I've only been able to reproduce this on MPEG2 TS samples. Some AVI, MKV, WMV, MXF wrapped MPEG2, MPEG2 PS and FLV seemed fine.

The same function is called and doesn't find some video track. (hasVideo() fails.

Race condition somewhere in the core probably. Or we don't listen to the good variable event in Qt input_manager.cpp
