libbluray: Java not detected properly

This Blu-ray disc needs Java for menus. Java was not found from your system.

i get this error with version: VLC version 3.0.0-git Vetinari (2.2.0-git-10110-g11f58819) Compiled by jenkins on 4e4fce769b81 (Nov 30 2016 04:23:30)

however this error does NOT happen with old nightly 6

this version does not have this problem/bug:

This needs to be reopened, getting the same error on vlc-3.0.0-rc6-20180110-0505 when trying to play BluRay folder.

"Java required: This Blu-ray disc requires Java for menus support.Java was not found on your system. The disc will be played without menus."

I have the latest version of Java installed.

For now, you need to have JRE 8 installed, it will not work with JRE 9

There was either a regression or this still has not been fixed. I'm running VLC media player 3.0.3 Vetinari (revision 3.0.3-1-0-gc2bb7592) 64bit with java 1.8 64bit on Ubunutu 18.04. And I get the same error message "Java required: This Blu-ray disc requires Java for menus support.Java was not found on your system. The disc will be played without menus."
