Track ID not working
Ever since I updated to version 2.2.0 (I am now on 2.2.1) I have been unable to force VLC to start with a different subtitle track ID (audio ID is having the same issue I believe). I used to be able to set the ID from -1 (default) to 1 (or 0 for the first track etc... you know your program LOL) if I wanted it to start on the 2nd subtitle track without having to change it manually every time. For months now I have had to keep doing it manually. When I change the track ID like I used to it now just defaults to "Disabled" so I don't get any subs. The only one that works is -1, otherwise it still just switches to "Disabled." I have attempted to reinstall VLC after a complete removal (not just uninstalling but a complete removal which I believe includes registry entries). I have also tried downgrading to 2.2.0, but still the same thing is happening. This feature is VERY important as many anime I watch default to the first english track which only shows things like signs (japanese writing in the anime) and opening songs instead of showing me the subtitles for the audio. I have looked around everywhere for a fix or to see if the method for doing this has changed somehow, but I can't find an answer anywhere. PLEASE HELP! I have never reported a bug before to you guys, but please don't ignore this. I use you program daily. I have been waiting for a fix, but when 2.2.1 came out it was still going on.
I am using windows 8.1 pro 64-bit, 32 GB RAM, 3.5 Ghz i7-3770k, Geforce 670, and all of the latest updates. I am a computer technician and have many years of experience if that helps give you an idea of my technical aptitude and ability. I tried to include as much info as possible. Please send me an e-mail if I can help out in any way or you need more information.
P.S. I get to this option through going to Advanced > Input / Codecs > Track Settings > Subtitle Track ID
Thank you, I'm looking forward to your reply.
