Joining two .mp4 files doesn't work
I have successfully used the following command before to join two .mp4 files, but it is not working with two HD 35Mbps files from a new Canon VIXIA HF R500 digital camcorder.
vlc.exe MVI_0067.MP4 MVI_0068.MP4 --sout "#gather:std{access=file,dst=trip1.mp4}" --sout-keep
When I run this command from a command window, it never completes even though it creates a larger trip1.mp4 file in the current working directory. When I try to open the trip1.mp4 file vlc displays an error:
VLC can't recognize the input's format: The format of 'file:///F:/051915/trip1.mp4' cannot be detected. Have a look at the log for details.
Attached are the contents of the log file.
- Windows 7 64-bit SP1
- VLC 2.2.1
