RTMP Stream Buggy Playback (Stuttering)

RTMP Playback very buggy

"main warning: picture is too late to be displayed"

I have tested with increased network-caching Option but no success ...

Tried different VLC Versions all same bad Playback of the Stream !

Please read i tried nearly all VLC Versions (3.0 nightly, 2.2.0 final until back to 2.1.0) always same jerky Playback of RTMP Streams !

In 2.0.x there was even NO SUPPORT rtmp, 2.1.0 it started to support the RTMP Stream Protocol.

And i'm not abusing the priority, you set it to "normal" , but there are many people like who see it CRITICAL.

Every Player supports RTMP Playback (for example SimpleTV), but i love VLC and want to open the RTMP Streams with VLC !!!

You ARE abusing the severities. Please start reading the bug reporting guidelines...

And "different VLC Versions" is clearly not precise enough for version information.

OK, i have mentioned all the VLC versions last post above ..

PS: there is NO REACTION on the network-caching option ...

I can set to 2 seconds or 10 seconds, always opening immediately !

Maybe this is the bug ?

This could just as well be a problem with your network or your system. Without a sample URL, there is nothing the VLC developers can do to investigate.

Try yourself to set Network-Caching to 10 seconds and open RTMP stream URL and you will see VLC does NOT cache anything and ignores this Option !!!

Sample URL:

rtmp://flash.oit.duke.edu/vod/_definst_test/Wildlife2.flv

Set Network-Caching to anything and you will see the Bug yourself ...

It is working for the AVIO plugin, including RTMP streams.

Could you please answer my question? I'm not the only one who has Problems with RTMP Playback.

As i can see avio is replacement for rtmpdump, but i can tell you rtmpdump is working without any stuttering just perfectly!

Why did you decide for AVIO Plugin? It is very buggy compared to rtmpdump.
