Audio drops/stops after rewind/backwards jump in TS
Hi everybody!
This is my first bug report so please try not to be too hard on me, especially since I am not speaking English natively.
As the title already tries to tell the bug is about audio output. I am watching a lot of recorded DVB-T material. Since the update of version 2.2.0 (Windows) playback of audio drops/stops every time I rewind. It does not make any difference whether I use the “Very short backwards jump”, the “Short backwards jump” (and so on) or if I jump to any previous time using the time line. The audio does not come back by itself. But I have noticed two ways of getting the audio track back:
- Jump forward (in any way)
- Turn off the current audio track and switch back on
The DVB-T material is a transport stream (.ts file) with an mpeg 1/2 video stream (mpgv) and an mpeg audio layer 1/2 (mpga) with a sample rate of 48 kHz and a bit rate of 192 kb/s. I am able to reproduce the behavior with any .ts file on my hard drive. Other files such as .mkv, .avi, .flv with other video and audio streams than mpga do not seem to be affected. I know there are sync issues with .ts files from DVB-T records since audio and video are often not synced after you cut the files. But the problem occurred firstly with version 2.2.0 (except for the same problem with vlc on Android).
I used the “Messages Window” to record some errors. The content is generated by pressing the following buttons:
- Play
- Step backward
- (wait a little)
- Step forward
- Pause
I am using the following configuration: Windows 7 x64 6.1.7601 VLC version 2.2.0 Realtek High Definition Audio (driver version 6.0.1.7040) nVidia GeForce GTX 970 (driver version 347.25) If you need additional information just let me know.
I set the bug severity to "normal" since I do not know if "major" would be appropriate. I do now know what priority to give the ticket.
