Support for MSS2

The WMV input format is supported. I have tried the VLC media player 0.8.6d under Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2) with the following videos where the capabilities of the current software need improvements.

Amazing_Caves_1080.wmv (87 MB): Journey Into Amazing Caves (IMAX)

• I do not get any sound.

• The graphics display is delayed.

Step_into_Liquid_1080.wmv (114 MB): Step Into Liquid

• The sound is acceptable.

• The screen update is frozen several times.

is it HD (seeing 1080 in the filename) ? What's your CPU ? did you try 0.9.0 ?

Well, the videos can also be tested in a POSIX capable environment like Linux after the EXE files were unpacked under Windows or Wine.

Amazing Caves plays fine except for the sound, there's no WMAP decoder in ffmpeg yet. Yet the sound works under linux here provided i have needed binary codecs (wma9dmod.dll).

Ticket could be reopened when ffmpeg gets a wmaps decoder.

I prefer that all media stream details should work as expected including sound. I hope that missing filters or plug-ins will not result in a crash.

For a crash, please file a separate bug, this doesnt seem related.

I guess that the software will be corrected because of my bug report #1798 (closed).

I hope that the support for the involved graphics and sound formats will also be improved.
