1024bit DSA keys are unacceptable for long term use, especially so in 2015. Could you please work towards using RSA (faster than DSA, and more compatible than ECC) with a keysize of 4096 bits. (Given: Long term key, offline use; speed is not an issue.)
Could VLC please start signing their releases with SHA256/SHA512?
