Don't Display Update Pop-Up During Playback
This is a minor annoyance, but it seems to happen to me far too often; I fire up VLC to watch something, and right during the best bit the update dialogue pops up over the video and I fumble away trying to close the box or pause the video (you'd think I'd get better at it).
I'd like to propose the following change in behaviour:
- If VLC is in fullscreen playback mode, then the update dialogue will be delayed until it is no longer full-screen (or playback has ended). If possible this will include displaying the dialogue the next time VLC is re-opened (in case the user simply closes while in full-screen).
- When the dialogue appears, if VLC is currently displaying windowed playback then this will be paused, to give the user a chance to deal with it.
This is just an idea for default behaviour, but full control could be given with a pair of drop-down menus in the preferences, with one for full-screen playback and one for windowed playback, allowing the user to set whether the dialogue is display, delayed or suppressed entirely.
