Seeking problem with HLS online videos
VLC can only play HLS online videos from the start to the end and gives no good way to seek a specific time in the video.
This problem could be solved by making VLC count the length of the video as it at the same time creates cache for the online video.
Example on how VLC can be made to count the time for these videos.
#EXTM3U #EXT-X-VERSION:3 #EXT-X-TARGETDURATION:12 #EXT-X-MEDIA-SEQUENCE:0 #EXTINF:9.6, media_w1247040335_b2048000_0.ts #EXTINF:9.6, media_w1247040335_b2048000_1.ts #EXTINF:9.6, media_w1247040335_b2048000_2.ts #EXTINF:9.6, media_w1247040335_b2048000_3.ts ... not all the segments are displayed. Will be uploading an full example m3u8 along with this ticket. #EXTINF:9.6, media_w1247040335_b2048000_80.ts #EXTINF:10.6, media_w1247040335_b2048000_81.ts #EXTINF:6.16, media_w1247040335_b2048000_82.ts #EXT-X-ENDLIST
The time of each segment are displayed in the #EXTINF:??.?,
By making VLC sum up all #EXTINF:??.?, the video player will get the right timelength of the video that is being played. Then the seeking would be no problem if the cache already works that is.
