QT movie launches multiple windows, crashes VLC
At URL https://www.cresis.ku.edu/data/sea-level-rise-maps, click video link "View" under "Quick Time Movie," which links to https://www.cresis.ku.edu/sites/default/files/sea-level-rise/anim/east_asia.mov (attached).
Whether I save and then view in VLC 2.01, or view directly from the Web, I get dozens of overlapping, briefly visible empty VLC windows, and eventually I'm left with a dozen or so survivors, one of which shows a background map of East Asia and the rest of which are blank. None of these windows can be closed without resorting to Windows Task Manager.
OS: Windows 7 SP 1, fully patched and updated as of May 1, 2012 VLC version 2.01 HP S2031 series wide LCD monitor, driver version 1.0.0.0 Intel HD graphics adapter, driver version 8.15.10.2696 Realtek PCIe GBE family controller, driver version 7.46.610.2011
Problem is reproducible with this movie and others from the same site. Sometimes Windows intervenes and says "VideoLAN has stopped working."
