Video and playlist won't show up after closing the video window
I'm running Mac OS X Lion v10.7.2.
- This happens with both nightly builds 1.3.0-git and 1.2 from Dec. 21, -intel64.
- This does not happen in v1.1.12 (prior to the OS X GUI rewrite).
Here's what I'm experiencing, I don't think that's expected behaviour:
- (VLC isn't launched.)
- Play a video file by double-clicking its icon in a Finder window (in my case: a MKV, x264 video, AC3 audio).
- Close the video window, either clicking the red button, or hitting CMD-W.
- The app is still running at this point.
- The video window is closed, but the file is still opened.
- Audio can still be heard and controlled via the playback menu and Space button (likely more).
- Neither the video window nor the playlist can be restored via the Window menu.
- Open another file by double-clicking its icon in a Finder window.
- The previous file is still opened and controllable. Still no video window.
- Same as in step 4.
- The only way to play a new file is to first quit VLC.
Screen recording to illustrate this. Audio hasn't been captured, unfortunately. At 0:15, there's the audio being played / paused as I click the corresponding menu entries. Hope this helps: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18870546/VLC%20bug%20-%20Hidden%20Video%20Window.mov
Expected behaviour:
- (VLC isn't launched.)
- Double-click a file.
- Video is displayed.
- Close the video window via the red button or CMD-W.
- Video is hidden.
- Can be toggled back via the Window menu.
- Playback can be controlled via appropriate menu entries.
- Double-click another file.
- The video of the new file is displayed, regardless of whether it was still hidden for the previous file.
I can perform more tests if necessary.
Thanks very much for this awesome project, the tremendous work being done continually, as well caring for the OS X version.
