Add an option to show system tray notifications when VLC is visible

Whether I'm in Windows or Linux, I like to use virtual desktops. VLC is located on Desktop 2, while Firefox is on Desktop 3. For occasions when I'm on Desktop 3, I want to see OSD notifications when my current radio stream changes tracks.

As it stands, I must ensure that the main VLC dialog is minimised for OSD to be active. This doesn't suit me, as I want it to remain visible on Desktop 2. Please add an option that lets users choose whether OSD remains active when VLC is visible.

Hmm, you don't actually mean OSD, do you? OSD fundamentally is invisible if there is no active video window, or if the video window is not visible.

I suppose you mean desktop notifications? If so, I suspect the place where they're shown depends on the desktop environment, not VLC, but I could be wrong.

Yes, that's what I meant. Other media players refer to this as OSD. Please add an option that lets users choose whether system tray notifications are shown when the main VLC dialog is visible.
