m4a files produced with VLC won't play on 2nd generation iPod Shuffle Model A1204.

VLC 1.2.0-git Twoflower (revision 5637ca81)

Ubuntu Karmic Koala 9.10 operating system.

This is the command used:-

cvlc foo :sout='#transcode{acodec=mp4a,ab=64}:std{access=file, mux=mp4,dst=test2.m4a}' vlc://quit

Did you test it with your ipod? No. I have problems applying the patch. "patch unexpectedly ends in middle of line" Maybe email has corrupted it. Please send me a modified "mp4.c" file as an attachment.

New m4a files play OK with my iPod Shuffle.

I've uploaded some samples.

sample1.m4a is without the patch, won't play.

sample2.m4a is with the patch, plays OK.
