Once a movie is opened (2-5 minutes), and playing (artifacts depending on size), there is a gradual increase in memory usage, depending on the file. When I say gradual, I really mean steep, but it really is varied, and doesn't seem to correlate nicely to format or file size. It's rather inconsistent. For example, a .ogm file (~300 MB), which wouldn't open in 1.0.5, was using 2.65 GB of active RAM after 20 minutes, with 3.2 GB of VM line up, with 2.8GB of SWAP! This was only after 20 minutes! When playing another .ogm file, from the same source (it was a series), and similar size (~300 MB), but which opened in 1.0.5 (not all .ogms from the same series/source opened in 1.0.5, I don't know why) the same effect happened, but to a much lesser degree, with sizes now being at 400-600 MB of RAM. This is still a sizable amount of RAM, especially since 1.0.5 would take ~100 MB or less. I think that this difference in size (2.65GB -> 300 MB RAM) has to do with the 1.0.5 discrepancy, which in it of itself is confusing given that the file's integrity checks out, and all of the files play fine w/ Quicktime X and perian. On a similar note, some .mkv's would display the same behavior as the .ogm and other media in regards to this bug; instead of active memory usage though a large inactive memory pool would be created (2-3 GB) when playing .mkv's.
I don't really know what to say about this one; if you can reproduce it, awesome, if not, well I guess that's my loss. It seems sporadic and linked to mkv and ogm, especially ogm.
