When attempting to pause, or scan through the video, operations are delayed by the size of the input access module cache. This is much more noticable when increasing the cache size to deal with slow or unreliable network links (e.g. ethernet over powerline, and wireless).
I have tested and confirmed this behaviour in both the File and Samba input access modules on the Win32 platform. Chatter in IRC suggests that this is a known issue amongst other users, and affects other (if not all) input access modules.
