DVB graphical interface: shorter field for "transponder/multiplex frequency"

Description

hi,

when trying to open a DVB-T stream with the gtk interface (file -> open capture device -> DVB), the "transponder/multiplex frequency" field accepts a maximum value of 100000000, while DVB-T channel frequency are much higher (e.g., 706000000), at least in italy. as a result, it's not possible to tune the receiver using the graphical interface.

It is however possible to tune the receiver by editing :dvb-frequency= in the "customize" field below, or by using the same parameters in the command line.

ad an additional enhancement request, it would be very nice to have some way to store DVB frequencies and channel names.

VLC media player 0.8.6c (interfaccia wxWidget) on ubuntu 7.10

thank you

OS X doesn't support DVB encoder cards right now (except for future EyeTV support, which is handled separately), so "no" for OSX.

Thanks for the hint! :-)

hey, we are talking about DVB DEcoder cards, and it looks like there are a few of them supported on OSX, see: http://www.defyne.org/dvb/ http://xlr8yourmac.com/OSX/os_x_tv_tuner_drivers.html

maybe it would be worth a check on OSX to

bye

encoder vs decoder was a typo, sorry.

VLC does only support files, disks and network streams as inputs on Macs at the moment. I surely know that Macs support DVB cards (I do even use one myself), but VLC for Mac doesn't. It doesn't even have the field mentioned in this ticket.
