open folder and open disk crash on assertion failed in remap.c

whenever a file or directory is loaded into the playlist an "Assertion Failed!" appears and cuase the player to completely crash, not a single nightly build has worked on a Windows platform since. This has been happening since the 21st of November.

Oops, November 21st hasn't come yet has it. OK what I meant to type was that this has been happening since October 21st.

From what I, CloudStalker, have noticed in the most recent nightly build (vlc-0.9.0-svn-20071117-0000-win32.exe) is that you can drag and drop files from a folder into VLC player but when adding a directory or opening a folder the "Assertion Failed" error appears giving you the options to Abort, Retry or Ignore. Clicking on either one will make VLC crash.

still reproducable with vlc-0.9.0-svn-20071215-0001-win32. unrelated to QT, also crashes with WX. prevents opening DVD as well.
