regression in 0.8.6c : always on top leaves the main window on the screen

Description

an user reported this on irc:

"i always use vlc with "always on top" option" "when i go to full screen, the new version (0.8.6c) let the main window opened"

he precised that it worked correctly using 0.8.6b
